Read the Teeline directly. Use the stopwatch to record your first attempt, then repeat the passage and compare your time.
Set your timer
Use the stopwatch for ordinary reading practice. The exam timers match the selected full-length exercise.
00:00
A repeatable method
Make each passage useful
Don’t stop after deciphering it once. The second and third readings are where hesitant recognition begins to become automatic.
Read the Teeline
Work through the shorthand directly, preferably aloud, without looking at the transcript.
Transcribe when useful
Type or write the passage in longhand if you want to check every word or prepare for an exam.
Check the transcript
Reveal the English only after your attempt. Mark errors and note outlines that caused hesitation.
Resolve difficult outlines
Use the Professional Teeline Dictionary or return to the relevant principle.
Read it again
Reset the timer and repeat the same passage. Aim for easier recognition, not rushed guessing.
Full-length practice
Build towards exam conditions
The short exercises develop recognition. Exam-format passages add the sustained reading and transcription work needed under time pressure.

| 60 wpm | 240 words | 25 minutes |
